Beautiful, richly colored fleeces are one of the traits we breed for on our farm.   Though Icelandic
sheep are typically shorn twice a year, we feel that only the fall fleeces are suitable for hand
spinning, and that is what we offer.  Expertly shorn by our New Zealand trained shearer,
 these fleeces are the cream of the crop!   Our raw fleeces are meticulously
skirted so you receive only the prime fiber to work with. 

The fleece is lustrous and has a dual coat that can either be easily separated or spun with
both coats together. The outer coat is similar to mohair and the inner coat is similar to cashmere. 
Icelandic fleeces are open and low in lanolin.  The weight loss when washed
is significantly less than many other breeds.

Select adult fleeces are $12 per pound and lamb fleeces are $16 per pound, plus shipping.
